Oh What A Day!

My son Chris surprised me with the Mayors proclamation a few weeks ago. Today was to be "Arnold's Bar and Grill" Day in the city. That was pretty awesome to me. Today started off great with the well wishes from FaceBook, Twitter and private emails. Then I get to the grocery store and my check out lady, Dorothy, says, "Today is Arnold's Bar and Grill Day. You are having free cake and 1.50 beers all day. And you are celebrating your 150th anniversary." I was floored. I have seen and spoken to Dorothy for maybe 5 or more years but she knew I was from Arnold's and it was important enough for her to remember it. Really, she had no clue I would see her today. I knew then it was going to be a special day.

Well it's 6:04 and I am taking a break before heading back to the restaurant. I have had visits from great friends stopping in all day just to say high or to cash in on that great cheap beer.

Then, I get this gift basket. It's from Jones The Florist. I always love right before you open it wondering who it could be from. The card read, I'm so proud of my baby sister, love Carolyn. Really it's 6:07 and I just don't see how this day could get any better.

My gratuity to everyone cannot be put in words. Thank you social media peeps, thanks Dorothy, thanks customers and thanks Big Sis.
